Laughing Breeze Sangha, Wirral

About us

Welcome and thank you for visiting our page. Laughing Breeze sangha began meeting in October 2010 after members exchanged contact details at the Nottingham retreat with Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay). We are a small sangha and are very friendly and welcoming.

Laughing Breeze sangha meets fortnightly on the first and third Monday of the month and also holds occasional days of mindfulness, which allows everyone to explore Thay’s teachings and practices more deeply.

The regular meetings take place on a Monday evening at 7.30pm and currently meets in West Kirby. The content of meetings varies depending on the group consensus, but every meeting includes half an hour of seated mindfulness meditation (sometimes silent, sometimes guided). This is usually followed by a short period of indoor walking meditation followed by another 10 minutes of sitting  meditation.  There is then a period of sharing  dharma teachings, readings and poetry which seem timely or relevant in some way. Other meeting activities may include indoor walking, mindful movement, reciting the five mindfulness trainings and drinking tea together.

Our days of mindfulness run approximately twice yearly and allow the sangha more time to explore additional practices such as touching the earth, deep relaxation, outdoor walking and candle lighting ceremonies, as well as including the other elements of a regular meeting.

We are a small  sangha at present and would love to welcome new members, particularly those who have an interest in applying mindfulness techniques to day to day life. If you would like any further information, please get in touch. We would be very interested in meeting people who might wish to set up a sangha in the Liverpool area .We look forward to hearing from you.
